Hello! My name is Heidi, and welcome to The Dress Up Diaries!

When we were little, many of us would look forward to the opportunity to play dress-up. Decked out in plastic crowns, feathery shoes, and party store princess dresses, our imagination allowed us to be whoever we wanted to be. Now that we’re adults though, our dress-up days feel like a nostalgic thing of the past. However, I don’t necessarily think this is the case, and there are opportunities to dress up all throughout our daily lives.

Everyday when we pick out what we want to wear, we get the chance to play dress-up. Our imagination lets us be creative with our outfits to put together looks that make us feel our best. How we dress has the ability to influence how we feel, so it’s important to have fun with what we wear. No matter whether you go all out with something bold or just simply put on fun jewelry related to your favorite movie franchise, it’s all part of dressing up for the day ahead.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved fashion and dressing up, first inspired by Barbie movies and Disney princesses when I was little. Currently, I am a senior fashion merchandising student at Kent State University, and throughout my time studying fashion, it has taken me a lot of trial and error to discover which of my outfits make me feel my best. Some days, I’ll just be styling an outfit for class, while others I’ll be preparing a cosplay of one of my favorite characters for the next convention I’m attending. No matter the occasion, I love getting the chance to put together a fun outfit or costume.

With this blog, I want to inspire you to have fun with what you’re wearing! I’ll share my outfit ideas and story times, and I’ll encourage you to let yourself be creative when picking out what to wear. Most importantly, I hope to show you all the different moments of our lives where we still get the opportunity to play dress up!
